CHURCH STREET DEVELOPMENT
SCOPE: Architecture
STATUS: Feasibility Study
SECTOR: Mixed-Use
The Cornerstone development is a conceptual project designed to address the longstanding vacant site – often referred to as the “hole in the ground” on Church Street. The proposed eight-storey building features a mixed-use design: commercial retail space on the ground floor accessible via Joell’s Alley, a sanctuary on the first floor, and residential units on the upper levels. The residences include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom units.
The modern building has a softened tiered geometry with plant life incorporated into private outdoor spaces and the roof top terrace introduces a biophilic design to soften the urban profile of the building. Which includes a pickleball court, plunge pool and indoor fitness centre. The balconies are both recessed or protruding, adding depth to the facades and large rectangular windows to ensure lots of natural light and ventilation in residential areas.
